40 Under 40 Founder Does Her Part To Change The Negative Image Of Delaware Youth With The 20 Under 20 List & Awards

Chains, Inc. has officially completed the nominee process for their first official 20 Under 20 list for Delaware. The 20 Under 20 List highlights the top 20 adolescents, to empower the next generation of young leaders who are creating positive change leading by example and displaying academic excellence. Candidates were nominated via an online survey by mentors, teachers, family members, or the nominee him/herself. After nominations were complete, nominees were reviewed and selected the top 20 candidates under the age of 20 but older than 13. Candidates were required to display academic excellence, entrepreneurship and/or demonstrate positivity in the community.

We led by example with the Forty Under 40 list, and now it is time to highlight our youth. The 20 under 20 is Delaware’s vision! With so much negativity surrounding Delaware and Wilmington, what better way to bring hope back than to showcase our youth who prove Delaware is still a great place of possibilities! -Erin Hutt, CEO

With Wilmington’s recent spate of homicides, organizations such as CHAINS, Inc. are trying to break the culture of poverty and violence experienced by many youth. CHAINS, Inc. will be hosting the 20/20 Awards Celebration in April to highlight the young leaders who are empowering their communities.

Chains, Inc. is a nonprofit organization established to motivate, support, and encourage the youth of Delaware to go to college and pursuer the career of their choice. The 3 pillars of Chains, Inc., provides experiences and principals that will give Delaware’s youth an opportunity to strive for economic stability.
