n October 13th, the City of Wilmington honored the contributions and accomplishments of visionary David Freeman Wooley. The event was hosted by the legendary Grammy Award winning singer, Dionne Warwick.

Some of Wooley’s accomplishments are listed below:

*Produced and promote live entertainment events for artist including Stevie Wonder, Dionne Warwick, Tony Bennett, BB King, James Brown, RUN DMC and many more.

* Exclusive pay-per view and closed circuit TV broadcast rights for several states to produce and promote the “Mike Tyson vs. Michael Spinks” championship boxing match among others.

* Producer and promoter for “Clash of the Legends,” and exclusive pay-per-view event that featured NBA legends in an exciting one-on-one contest.

* Co-wrote three bestselling books with music legend, Dionne Warwick.

* Won exclusive rights to develop Wilmington’s waterfront. His vision was to build a $15M entertainment complex to include state-of-the-art multiplex movie theater, restaurants, entertainment center, etc.

* Founder of the Wilmington Jazz Festival, later renamed the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival
